Welcome to Common Ground Church

Common Ground Church is a community of honest, ordinary people, broken but becoming whole. We exist to apply the love of Christ and the Good News of His Kingdom to a community impacted by addiction.

If you or someone you care about has struggled with addiction, or if you’re looking for a place of welcome and understanding, this church is for you.

Common Ground’s Story

Common Ground Church was born from a desire to cultivate a community where people impacted by addiction could live with honesty, experience the grace of God, and walk alongside one another in hope and healing. Whether you are personally struggling with addiction, living in recovery, or carrying the weight of loving someone affected by addiction, this church exists for you. We believe no one should have to walk these roads alone.

Meet with a Pastor

Sometimes you just need someone to talk to. Whether you have questions about faith, need prayer, want guidance, or simply want to connect, our pastors are here for you.

What You Can Expect At Common Ground

We believe the church is a place where the hope of the Gospel intersects with our point of need.  As a “recovery church” we may feel a bit “unconventional.”  Our services are interactive and participatory.  It’s ok to ask questions, even during the sermon!  We’re the people of God on mission; and we’re in it together.

  • Common Ground Church is participatory, relational, and grounded.

Our gatherings are designed for engagement rather than observation. Congregants share prayers and praises aloud. We pause intentionally for families and individuals to pray together. Teaching is conversational, inviting questions, comments, and real time dialogue.

  • We are building a community, not an event.

Life together extends beyond Sunday. We cultivate friendships, mutual care, and shared responsibility throughout the week, both formally and informally. We believe the church exists for the common good and that shared life is central to spiritual formation.

  • Generosity shapes our posture toward God and one another.

We practice generous assumptions, choosing trust and goodwill. We practice generous giving, sharing our resources and our lives with one another and our neighbors. We practice generous recovery, acknowledging failure honestly while offering grace, accountability, and pathways toward healing and growth.

  • Our services are structured and relaxed.

We value rhythm, clarity, and predictability, particularly for those in recovery. Within that structure, our tone is informal, relational, and unpretentious. We are organized without being rigid and reverent without being distant.

  • Our pastors are embedded in the community.

Our pastors work within the community. They live the same rhythms as the people they serve and understand the hopes, pressures, and realities of working families in this region. Leadership is present, accessible, and shared life is the norm.
